Multi-award-nominated duo Fran & Flora captivate audiences with world class performances of music from across eastern-Europe and beyond. Comprising of Francesca Ter-Berg (cello / vox) and Flora Curzon (violin / vox), this ever-evolving collaboration is born out of a deep friendship, musical bond and shared interests in traditional music, improvisation and a sense of adventure. Their compositions and arrangements stem from the modes and melodies of Klezmer, Transylvanian, Romanian, Greek and Armenian music, as well as their deep dives into archival recordings and live electronics.

Unfurl, the debut album by Fran & Flora (‘Border-defying’ - Mojo; ‘An album of beguiling beauty’ - The Wire; ‘Brave and classy’ - Robin Denselow, The Guardian.), was released in February 2019. Incorporating tunes and songs collected on their travels, the album was the culmination of three years studio work with producer Sam Beste (The Vernon Spring / Hejira) where they explored their aesthetic, experimenting with interweaving textures and layers, electronics and analogue processing. In June 2020 a 5-track remix EP was released celebrating tracks from Unfurl. Remix artists included Portico Quartet, Deep Throat Choir, Dylan Henner, Enhang Ha (Berlin), The Yellow House and Dylan Henner which was championed by Mary-Anne Hobbs (BBC 6 Music). They are currently in the process of finishing their second album.

Fran & Flora have been supported by PRS Women Make Music, Help Musicians UK and Arts Council England, the last of whom funded a UK tour in 2019 and early 2020, which sold out venues including Kings Place and Cafe Oto (London), The Cube (Bristol), Cobalt Studios (Newcastle), Kitchen Garden Cafe (Birmingham), Shambala Festival, EFG London Jazz Festival, Shtetl Neukolln (Berlin), and Ancienne Belgique (Brussels).
