Anna Phoebe is a violinist and composer working on cross-genre solo and collaborative projects. Anna’s album Sea Souls and its sister release Sea Souls (live) are rich musical responses to the natural world, exploring the dialogue between sea and psyche. It has received widespread radio support, including from Scala Radio, BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 6 Music, Soho Radio, BBC Radio London, and KEXP. Last year saw the release of Sea Souls Reworks, featuring new versions from artists including High Contrast, Alexandra Hamilton-Ayres, Hinako Omori and Slow Meadow. Anna is currently developing her next solo album. She toured the UK in June 2024 and wrote her one-person show earlier in the year in between performing at the O2 and producing a new hybrid DJ and live collaboration with DJ Mary Anne Hobbs, which opened for The Smile at BBC 6 Music Festival. As a composer for screen, Anna recently scored the hit Apple TV+ period drama series, The Buccaneers alongside Aisling Brouwer. Other recent credits include the Channel 4 documentary Surviving Dad; and ITV’s two-part Wear the Rose documentary about the England team’s journey to the 2022 Women’s Rugby World Cup. She won Best Composer at BAFTA-affiliated Underwire Film Festival for her score for Belittled (feat. Kiran Sonia Sawar; dir. Claire Tailyour) and was nominated for Best Composer for Harriet and the Matches (feat. Cillian Murphy; dir. Miranda HowardWilliams). Other composer credits include Ethel (feat. Miriam Margolyes, Elijah Baker, Professor Green; dir. Jonathan Wright). Her music has featured in campaigns for Apple, WWF, Vodafone, Zegna, Canyon, and BT Sport in association with UEFA. Her instrumental duo AVAWAVES is signed to One Little Independent Records (home to Björk and Skunk Anansie). They also recently scored the multi-award-winning feature documentary Savage Waters (dir. Mikey Corker), which won Best Original Soundtrack at the 2022 Richard Harris International Film Festival. Anna is a regular guest on BBC Radio 4’s Add To Playlist, and has contributed to BBC 1 Relax series Lose Yourself With… . She is a board director for the Ivors Academy and an ambassador for Young Voices. She features in Yasmin Alibhai-Brown's 2020 book Ladies Who Punch.
